The Sundew Glow is a solar-powered device that catches insects such as mosquitoes and flies in a natural, eco-friendly way. It is simply inserted into the pot or garden of a carnivorous plant—such as sundew, butterwort, or Venus flytrap. During the day, a dye-sensitised solar panel charges an internal coin battery; in the evening, a UV LED switches on. Insects drawn to the UV light are guided toward the carnivorous plant, where they become trapped. Sustainability was central to the design: compared with a typical solar-powered insect killer, the Sundew Flower uses no PVC parts and contains only 7 electronic components—reducing the component count by 70% and lead usage to below 80% of conventional levels.
